Meet the Stars
Key to success in any business is having the right team, the right ethics and in this case as well, the right choice of vehicles. Our team of guides and back up teams work hard to plan and execute perfect day tours all around Belize. From our base in Belmopan, we provide transfers, tours and transfers with tours all over the country. In some cases where it does not make sense financially or logistically to provide a service ourselves, we use our trusted partners in the North (for border crossings) Belize City (airport to ferry transfers) and occasionally deep south (shorter transfers in the South).
Nick Davies, A British/Belizean, started Darah Travel in 2010 and Darah Transfers and Tours in 2012 and is proud of the way the team provide safe, reliable, fun trips throughout Belize. Meet the team, we’ve got you covered!
Edbin
Lead Guide
Edbin has been a tour guide for 11 years and specialises in adventurous and entertaining tours throughout Belize on Maya sites and all cave experiences. He feels very at home in these fascinating environments and thrives on providing every guest a memorable day out. He is highly motivated, detail-oriented and committed and loves to multitask, focus on time management and delivering world-class experiences throughout Belize. Edbin works hard to ensure his knowledge of all special sites of interest are up to date and is eager to provide fun facts on his tours. When he is not with guests, he loves to go bird watching or getting stuck into a hard to put down book! Both of these help sharpen his appreciation for nature and culture and our guests rave about their time with him. Edbin is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Greggy Cruz
Guide
Known to everyone as “Greggy” he has been a tour guide for 17 years and has spent a lot of time working in Belize City handling passengers from cruise ships andn bin more recent years has been spending his time ‘one on one’ with guests offering high-quality, service-oriented day trips for solo travellers, couples and families. We know from the number of requests from guests who ask for him to be their guide or driver for the day, that he is always working hard to provide those in his care with a stunning day out. He is also known as a bit of a joker with a good sense of humour and never without a smile. In his spare time Greggy runs his own small tortilla factory producing high quality tortillas throughout the capital and beyond. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Jorge Estrella
Senior Guide Groups
His early interactions with nature and community inspired a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural heritage. His formative years unfolded amidst the evolving landscape of the Blue Creek Mennonite community and the untamed jungles of what would later become the Río Bravo Conservation and Management Area. He served 12 years in the Belize military, managed security for a large hotel, and has been a forest ranger and also participated in an intensive birding course facilitated by the Massachusetts Audubon Society as well as being certified in bird ecology and conservation strategies. He is recognized for compelling storytelling and cultural preservation and works for the tourist board training new tour guides. He loves to lead groups on longer immersive trips and has been recognized as being at the very top of his field worldwide for leading group tour companies. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Gabriel Lewis
Driver
Gabriel is multi-talented and ensures that all our amazing suppliers are paid promptly for services provided to your clients. His accounting skills have all been learned in his position and in addition, he provides important weekly checks on all our fleet vehicles, ensuring they are in a top tip condition. He is very detailed and precise, something so necessary in his line of work. He loves music and sports and he plays the drums and basketball. His goal is to be a better version of himself, progressing onwards and upwards. He is an avid adventurer and loves hiking, swimming, and wildlife. Gabriel is fluent in English and knows some Spanish.
Mark Magana
Operations & Logistics Supervisor
Mark started with the company on a part time basis back in 2014 while finishing his studies at the University of Belize. We knew from the beginning he was a keeper! He is incredibly detailed and does an amazing job in handling all the moving parts of each client itinerary before and while our client’s travel. Whether it’s just keeping in touch with guest or assisting clients in country he enjoys each interaction with guests and enjoys making their life easier so they can fully enjoy their stay. Outside of work, he enjoys the IT side of life and likes working with computers and technology. When he isn’t at the beach enjoying martinis on his time off, he enjoys listening to all genres of music, but his ultimate favourite is lively Soca music. Mark is fluent in English.
Sophie Diaz
Operations
Sophie joined the Darah Travel family in 2025, and expertly supports Mark as Operations Assistant. She is responsible for ensuring accurate itineraries for our clients. Sophie has sound business savvy with four years managing her small bakery business and she is known for her attention to detail and commitment to quality. Critical to her role is to dot all the I’s and cross all the t’s something she says that she cherishes and relishes as it means every customer trip will run according to the way it has been planned. She loves travelling around the country and is an avid lover of both jungle treks and refreshing swims in the warm azure waters that is Belize! In her personal time, Sophie serves as an adjunct board member and volunteers for her local humane society striving to improve the quality of life for citizens and animals. She is fluent in English and has some Spanish language skills.
Jennie Aguilar

Jennies’ journey into travel has been full of milestones. During her tenure, she has become a wife and the mother of two beautiful children. She has nurtured Darah Travel into the successful and caring travel partner it is today. Her calm, welcoming and efficient approach to planning and keeping the “show on the road” in all seasons, has created the benchmark by which the company is known. Jennie boasts she has two families; her own and Darah Travel! Successfully balancing both, she is loved and admired by her family, colleagues and travel partners worldwide. Jennie is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Nick Davies
Founder/Director
Nick is the visionary and founder of Darah Travel and Darah Transfers and Tours. Nick has an intense passion and zen for everything related to travel. He has opened and managed luxury resorts and travel companies in Europe, the Caribbean, North and Central America and provides the dynamic drive to keep Darah Travel as the premium travel partner in Belize. He provides travel trade support and he speaks Fluent English and gets by well in : Dutch, Spanish, Papiamentu and German, and is currently learning 3 other languages ! You will most likely meet Nick at a travel show or event somewhere on the globe soon! Nick is British/Belizean.
Shannon Davies
Director
Shannon has been involved in owning her own businesses in: travel, hotels, baking, food manufacturing, and even a fuel station ! She has worked in International banking and is an award winning journalist, created the countries first reality TV show, and has read the news on national television in Belize. She is addicted to travel and supports the office behind the scenes with legal, financial and travel advice support. She has managed to juggle business and raising 3 children, the apples of her eye, and represents the company at travel shows around the globe. She is fluent in English and Spanish and is Belizean/British.
Darah Davies
Travel guru in the making! (2010)
Darah is finishing school next year and has designs on becoming a Doctor! Even at her tender age, she has already visited 10 countries and notched up many tour experiences. She continues to explore Belize and spends time in the Darah Travel office during the summer holidays. Darah is accomplished in graphic design, is a very talented nail artist and loves science at school and you may soon get to meet her at shows! Though technically not old enough to drive she has her first little car ready to go, and can’t wait to get behind the wheel! Darah speaks fluent English, and some French and Spanish and is Belizean/British.
